If you’re an #avgeek like me, you were busy on Thursday following the hashtag #AirNZ787. Those in the know were watching as Air New Zealand took delivery of the first of 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets. The jet, with a great new livery, was handed over during a ceremony at Boeing in Seattle.
The jet. which features the Koru and New Zealand fern livery, then flew to New Zealand to the airline’s technical operations base. The aircraft will operate its first scheduled flight between Auckland and Perth in October, followed by services to Shanghai and Tokyo later this year. The airline will have three more 787s delivered by the end of the year. They will be used on the Auckland-Perth, Auckland-Shanghai, Auckland-Tokyo abd eventually, Christchurch-Tokyo. The rest of the fleet will be delivered by 2017.
Please enjoy this infographic on the 787 delivery.
