A year ago, our family went to Tokyo for 10 days to celebrate Baby Digital’s 10th birthday. My poor family — I dragged them to Tokyo Narita Airport three hours early so I could take photos of all the world’s airlines parked at the gates. Below is one I took of a United Airlines Boeing 747. And today is Election Day, so please don’t forget to vote!!

One of my Facebook friends pointed out this story about a group of folks bringing a Boeing 747 jet to this year’s Burning Man festival. I responded that seeing something like that might convince me to go this year. Then good friend Mary Kirby of the Runway Girl Network passed along the video, below. So who’s going with?

Back in November 2007, I took at trip to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. At the time, construction on runway 9L/27R was under way. I got the full behind-the-scenes tour, complete with a stroll on said runway. I also got the chance to take the photos below, of a Northwest Airlines cargo Boeing 747. Enjoy!

In September, I had the chance to attend Qatar Airways’ #DiningWithAltitude event at Washington Dulles. While I was waiting to board my “flight,” I had time to snap photos of some of the international aircraft parked for the afternoon/evening bank. I saw this British Airways Boeing 747 parked at a gate and I had to take the photo. Enjoy!
