I had the chance to pop out to Washington Dulles International Airport as Royal Air Maroc launched Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Marrakech. Of course, we got to go on the tarmac as the jet arrived. Below is one of the many pictures I took that night.

Every June, I get the pleasure of traveling out to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s annex at Washington Dulles International Airport for Become A Pilot Family Day. I’m there to record the Airplane Geeks podcast, and, of course, check out the planes. So please enjoy the photo below of the Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer. Enjoy!

Every year on the second Saturday in June, it is my distinct pleasure to hang out with the Airplane Geeks to record the show live at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, National Air and Space Museum, next to Washington Dulles International Airport, for Become A Pilot Day.  One of the bonuses of the event is that we can arrive before the museum open to set up. There’s always enough time to wander the planes on display before the masses arrive.  Below is a shot I took of a Boeing 307 Stratoliner that was flown by Pan Am. Enjoy!

File this under “I love my job.” I had the chance to zip out to Washington Dulles International Airport to see British Airways bring its first Airbust A380 jumbo jet for new service from London Heathrow.  I took a ton of photos, but the one below is of the A380 at the gate right before we were allowed aboard to check it out. Enjoy!
